Katy (Thurber) Geist played in two NAIA softball tournaments for the Lady Bison and was the team’s leading hitter in both of those seasons.

She started all 204 games of her career at third base and earned All-America honors in 2003, when she also was second in Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year voting. 

Geist was a four-time All-Conference selection and was twice named an NAIA Scholar Athlete. She is in the top 10 all-time at OBU in 13 offensive categories.

Originally from Bixby, Geist now lives in Oklahoma City with her husband Nate and three children. She is the author of When You Rise, a blog for parents, offering lessons and verses to help raise their children on the Word of God.
