Jamel Coachman dominated in the paint for the Bison for two seasons, racking up points and making things difficult for opposing post players trying to get an inside basket.
After swatting away 73 shots in his junior season, fewer attempts inside were made the following year. His blocks total was down to 58, but his impact was felt as opposing coaches game-planned around his presence inside.
Jamel was a 2004 NAIA First Team All-American and earned Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year, after earning Newcomer of the Year honors in 2003. He averaged 17.3 points, scoring 630, in his senior season and finished with 1,098 points in his career.Â
