Winner of three Learfield Sports Directors' Cups as the nation's top NAIA athletics program, Oklahoma Baptist boasts a championship tradition few can rival.  With 34 titles on its resume, including 31 since 2005, OBU Athletics has earned its reputation as one of America's elite institutions.

The Bison earned the program's first national title in 1966 as the men's basketball program, behind All-American and future NBA star Al Tucker, defeated Georgia Southern, 88-59.

In 1990, the men's track and field program broke a 23-year title-less streak on Bison Hill, winning the outdoor national championship.

Fifteen years later, the track and field program once again added to OBU's list of champions with the women's team taking the indoor title.

So began an incredible streak of 18 national championships won by Bison teams over a 10 year period, including titles by the track, swimming and diving and men's basketball programs.

OBU added varsity swimming and diving in 2012, and both the men's and women's programs dominated the national scene over the next five years. The men's program earned four straight NAIA titles from 2012-15, while the women's team won three straight (2013-15), finishing as the national runner-up in 2012.

In 2013, OBU set a collegiate record by winning an unprecedented four national championships in one day as the men's and women's swimming and diving teams captured their respective titles, while the men's and women's track and field programs took home indoor championships.

The women's track and field program leads all Bison teams with 12 national championships, while the men's track program ranks second with seven. Men's swimming and diving (4) and women's swimming and diving (3) are next, followed by men's basketball (2), and baseball (2), softball (1), men's tennis (1) and women's tennis (1), STUNT (1).
