SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist women's basketball added several newcomers to its roster over the summer. Bison head coach
Bo Overton brought in six new student-athletes for the 2026-27 campaign.
The group includes four transfers and two freshmen. The incoming transfer class boasts a wealth of experience, combining for 217 appearances and 114 starts at their previous institutions.
OBU's incoming freshmen also have impressive resumes, as both were named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State teams just last month. Here's a short look at each of the six newcomers:
Mireia Casas | G | 5-9 | Sr. | Badalona, Spain | University of Missouri-St. Louis
Casas comes to OBU after spending last season at the UMSL, where she appeared in 14 contests and made a pair of starts. She was a significant contributor in her time at Murray State College, where she played in 59 games and made 32 starts for the Aggies during her freshman and sophomore campaigns.
Reese Hoadley | G | 5-8 | So. | Georgetown, TX | Nicholls State
Hoadley spent her freshman year at the Division I level with Nicholls State, where she played in 17 games. As a high school senior at Georgetown HS, she averaged 23.0 ppg and set a pair of school records for points (46) and three-pointers (9) in a single game.
Claire Hooker | G | 5-11 | Fr. | Salina, OK | Locust Grove HS
Hooker was a four-time All-State selection at Locust Grove, scoring more than 1,000 career points and leading her team to a pair of state semifinal appearances. She was also a four-time All-Conference selection and helped Locust Grove to 93 wins during her four years there. In July, she participated in the OCA All-State game with fellow Bison freshman
Maddy Kirk.

A first-team All-District selection, Kirk joined
Claire Hooker as an OCA All-State game selection earlier this summer. She was a first-team All-Conference selection as a senior and will also play volleyball at OBU.
Mattie Rich | G | 5-10 | 5th | Prague, OK | University of Science and Arts
Rich joins the Bison after splitting last season between the University of Science and Arts & Northwestern Oklahoma State She was also at NWOSU in 2024-25. Rich played in 29 games for Northern Oklahoma College in 2023-24, and started 21 games for Central Christian College (KS) as a freshman. She was an All-Conference selection at Prague High School, where she was also the valedictorian of her class.
Aaliyah Young | F | 6-1 | Jr. | Cache, OK | Western Oklahoma State College
Young spent the last two seasons at Western Oklahoma State College, where she started 59 of the 60 games in which she played. She tallied 784 points, 435 rebounds, and 72 blocks during her time with the Pioneers, averaging 13.1 ppg and 7.3 rpg. Young earned a pair of NJCAA Region 2 Player of the Week honors and was a first-team All-Region selection. She also earned first-team All-Conference accolades at Cache HS.
