SHAWNEE – After an incredible season,
Sean Dixon claimed the GAC Male Athlete of the Year title, becoming the first male in OBU history to earn the honor.
Sean Dixon joins the company of two other Bison to earn a GAC Athlete of the Year title.
Kim Moosbacher represented OBU Women's Tennis in the 2019-2020 season, claiming the first GAC Female Athlete of the Year award. Kayleigh Jones was the second Bison athlete to earn the GAC title back in the 2022-2023 season as a member of OBU Softball.
Dixon becomes the first male athlete to achieve the honor, being named the 2025 GAC Male Athlete of the Year.
The Jacksonville, Floridia, native, has had a remarkable season, ending with the 2025 NCAA DII Outdoor National Championship title in the 400 hurdles. His victory marks the first DII National Championship for OBU Track & Field.
The senior also achieved 2025 USTFCCA First Team All-American status in the 400 hurdles after securing the DII Championship title with a sub 50 second time (49.54).
Dixon found a spot amongst the 2025 All-GAC First Team in the 400m dash and the 200m dash. He was also named GAC Track Athlete of the Week twice in the month of April this year.
Prior to the National Championship, Dixon won the GAC Track Championship in the 400 with a time of 47.50, setting a new PR. Dixon also took home the GAC Championship in the 200m dash with a 21.63 finish.
After a season full of accomplishments, Dixon will add the 2025 GAC Male Athlete of the Year accolade to his trophy collection.
