SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist men's track and field member
Dwayne Fleming earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America recognition on Tuesday.
He's just the sixth Bison male athlete in the Division II era to receive this top-end honor. The last time OBU produced a CSC Academic All-America selection on the men's side was December of 2018 when soccer players Alec Young and Michael Stewart were chosen.
Fleming is a management major and boasted a 3.80 GPA for the 2025-26 academic cycle. He was one of only two Great American Conference athletes to make the 44-person list.
Among his athletic achievements during the year, he earned four First Team All-America certificates during the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships at Emporia State. Fleming was also the GAC Outdoor Track Championships MVP and was the conference champion in the 100, 200 and 4x100 relay. Furthermore, Fleming was a First Team All-America performer in the indoor 4x400.
