SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist Women's Basketball make the trip back to Arkansas for Friday and Sunday action against the Reddies and the OBU Tigers.
The Bison will take on Henderson State at 5:30 p.m. Friday evening and Sunday's slate will see a 1 p.m. meeting between Oklahoma Baptist and Ouachita Baptist.
Bison Notes
- OBU is 16-8 overall and 12-6 in conference play after splitting last week's action against SNU and NWOSU. The matchup with Southern Nazarene ended in a 58-54 final for the Crimson Storm. The Rangers were overtaken by the Bison with a 67-51 final for the green and gold.
- The green and gold are 9-2 at home and 5-6 on the road. In the previous meeting with Henderson State, the Bison won 75-56 in Shawnee. The last meeting between the OBU's saw the Bison win 68-56 in Noble Complex.
- In the most recent week of play, Sierra Copeland received the GAC Defensive Player of the Week award. The senior for the Bison totaled six blocks, seven steals, and 12 rebounds to average 6.0 per game. Copeland compiled two blocks, six steals and six rebounds against SNU and four blocks, one steal and six rebounds against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
- Mackenzie Crusoe led the Bison in the previous week of play with 35 total points, averaging 17.5 per game. Crusoe also compiled nine steals, one block, seven rebounds, and three assists.
- The green and gold are ranked fourth in the league behind Southern Nazarene, Harding, and Southeastern Oklahoma. The Bison are ranked second in offense, fourth in defense and third marginally. Oklahoma Baptist is first in the GAC in three-pointers made with 218 on the season to average 9.1 per game. The green and gold are second in team free throw percentage at 81.5% and assists at 329 total for 13.71 assists per game on average. The Bison are also first in blocked shots with 110 on the season, averaging 4.58.
Reddie Notes
- The Reddies are 9-15 overall and 7-11 in conference play. Henderson State is coming into Friday's action on a four-game losing streak after losses to NWOSU, SWOSU, Ouachita Baptist and Arkansas-Monticello.
- Brynlee Huggins leads the Reddies in scoring with 344 points averaging 14.3 points per game. Huggins is 35.1% from the field, 32.6% from the three and 65.5% from the line. #11 from Henderson State has totaled80 rebounds, 37 assists, 22 steals and eight blocks.
- Bobbi Bazzle is the defensive leader for the Reddies with 17 blocks on the season, 150 rebounds and 15 steals. Bazzle is 56.9% from the field and 62.55 from the three with 99 points to average 4.1 per game.
- Henderson State is ranked second in three-pointers made at 176 per game, averaging 7.3 per game. Henderson State is third in the league in combined team rebounds with 898 on the season to average 37.4 per game. - Ouachita Baptist is 9-13 overall and 5-13 in conference play. Of the five conference wins for the Tigers comes victories over Arkansas Tech, NWOSU, SWOSU, and Henderson State twice.
- The Tigers are 7-4 at home and 2-9 on the road. After splitting the last week of play against Henderson State and Arkansas Tech, the Tigers fell to Arkansas Tech with a 63-53 final for ATU.
- Madeleine Tipton leads Ouachita Baptist in scoring with 293 points to average 14 per game. Tipton is 40.3% from the field, 31.9% from the three and 82.5% from the line. #23 from the Tigers has compiled 68 rebounds, 52 assists, six steals and three blocks.
