PITTSBURG, Kan. – Oklahoma Baptist's men's track and field team took part in a couple events during Pittsburg State's 10th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic at the Robert W. Plaster Center.
During the distance medley relay,
Carson Kardokus,
Jentezen Smith,
Josh Kearse and
Maxamillian Wheeler delivered a fourth-place finish in 10:00.86. That time met NCAA D2 Provisional standards and was the best by the Bison this season.
The other race OBU participated in was the 4x400 relay.
Blayne Johnson,
Sean Dixon,
Isaiah Willis and Smith clocked a provisional time of 3:13.01. That slotted the quartet in fifth place too. It was also the best time for the Bison this season.
Individually, Dixon took fifth in the 400-meter race (48.42) while Wheeler was slotted seventh in the 3000. The senior crossed the finish line in 8:22.45. Furthermore, Kardokus earned an eighth-place finish in the 800-meter open run (1:54.29).
Next on the schedule for Oklahoma Baptist is the NCAA D2 Indoor National Championships on March 13-15 at Indianapolis, Ind.
