MONTICELLO, Ark. – The Oklahoma Baptist women's cross country team earned a fourth-place team finish during the 2025 Great American Conference Championships on Saturday.
Four ladies highlighted the team's efforts:
Shayna Hendrix,
Kieran Paxton,
Adelaide Murphy and
Trista Etheridge. They all earned GAC Second-Team honors.
For Hendrix, she earned a career-best 11th place finish with a personal-best time of 18:24.48 during the 5K race. One spot later was Paxton, a sophomore. She also delivered a PR when she crossed the finish line in 18:24.87.
Murphy and Etheridge followed in 14th and 15th place, respectively. In her fourth 5K race of the fall, Murphy PR'd with a time of 18:28.29. As for Etheridge, her time of 18:30.63 was also a season-best.
OBU's next-best performer was junior
McKayla Schmitt. Her 26th-place finish was a career-best in three GAC Championship races. She clocked a time of 18:45.26.
Up next for the Bison is the NCAA Central Regional Championship in Joplin, Mo., on Nov. 8.
