Women's Cross Country Picked Second in GAC Preseason Poll

DARDANELLE, AR – After finishing fourth at last year's Great American Conference Championship, the Oklahoma Baptist women's cross country team has been selected to finish second in the GAC Preseason Coaches Poll.

The Bison actually tied with Ouachita Baptist in the number two spot, as each squad earned 107 points. OBU received a pair of first-place votes, while Ouachita tallied three.

East Central finished first with 114 points and three first-place votes, while Harding earned the remaining first-place vote and tallied 94 points to finish fourth.

Arkansas Tech, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Southern Arkansas, Henderson State, Southern Nazarene, Southwestern Oklahoma State, and Arkansas-Monticello rounded out the 12-team poll.

The Bison return four All-GAC honorees from last year's team in Shayna Hendrix (11^th), Kieran Paton (12^th), Adelaide Murphy (14^th), and Trista Etheridge (15^th), all of whom finished in the top 15 at last year's GAC Championship meet.

Oklahoma Baptist will run its first meet of the season on Sept. 3 at the Rogers State Distance After Dark. This year's GAC Championship is set for Nov. 7 in Enid, OK.
