Women's Cross Country Opens Season at Rogers State Distance After Dark

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist women's cross country is set to begin the 2026 campaign on Thursday, Sept. 3 at the Rogers State Distance After Dark meet in Tulsa. The Bison will run at 8 p.m. and live results can be accessed here.

OBU was picked to finish second in the Great American Conference this season after placing fourth at the 2025 GAC Cross Country Championships and 17th at the NCAA Central Regional. Oklahoma Baptist returns four All-GAC performers from last year in Shayna Hendrix, Adelaide Murphy, Trista Murphy, and Kieran Paxton.

The Bison took third in last year's Distance After Dark meet, paced by a 15th-place showing by Hendrix. Paxton finished one spot behind in 16th, while A. Murphy was 24th and T. Murphy came in 30th in the 114-woman field.

OBU is scheduled to run in four regular-season meets before heading to the GAC Championships on Nov. 7. This year's Central Regional takes place on Nov. 21 at Yankton Trail Park in Sioux Falls, SD. The 2026 NCAA Division II National Championships are set for Dec. 4 in Lawrence, KS.
