Getman Earns All-GAC Recognition

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist's Jaedyn Getman became just the third Bison player to ever earn All-Great American Conference First Team accolades on Wednesday.

The Stratford, Okla., joined Kalifa Ford (2021-22) and McKenzie Cooper (2017-18) as the only OBU players to earn recognition on the top team.

Getman's 2023-24 season has been an outstanding one. Her 17.8 scoring average is not only the best by a Bison player in the D2 era, but also the second-best mark in the GAC. The forward also posted top-ten marks in rebounding (6.4) and free throw percentage (86.6). Plus, Getman shot 44 percent from the field, 13th-best in the league.

During the 28-game regular season, the 6-foot-2 forward reached double-figure scoring 26 times. That included a career-best 27 points against Washburn on Nov. 11. Furthermore, Getman scored at least 20 in 11 contests, a first for a Bison player in the D2 era.

On the rebounding front, she pulled down at least six boards 19 times. Her best effort came on Jan. 20 at Southern Arkansas when Getman secured 12, another career-high. Additionally, Getman dished out multiple assists in 10 games and secured at least one block in 11 contests.

Through two seasons on Bison Hill, Getman has earned All-GAC honors twice and was the league's Freshman of the Year.
