SHAWNEE – Over the next couple of weeks, we'll look at the incoming freshman class that Bison women's basketball coach
Bo Overton and assistant
Brennyn Seagler have put together heading into 2023-24.
Katy Piper, a native of Holliday, Texas and four-year starter at Holliday High School, will be making her way to Bison Hill in a few months.
The accolades run deep for Piper, a 5-foot-11 guard. She helped lead Holliday to the 3A State Championship as a senior and ended her career with 1,524 points and 669 rebounds. In postseason play, Piper averaged 17 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game.
Piper was named a 3A All-State selection by the Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) as a senior as well as garnering TGCA All-Star Team recognition as a junior. Plus, she earned All-Region and All-State honors by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC).
Furthermore, she made regional and state all-tournament teams during her career at Holliday and was a freshman newcomer of the year.
In the classroom, Piper was an Academic All-State award winner from the TABC.
