Three Inductees Named to OBU Hall of Fame Class

SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist University Athletics Department is proud to announce its 2022 Hall of Fame Class. Baseball's Jinny Parra, volleyball's Kristin Pressley and men's basketball's Emmanuel Wilson will be formerly inducted at a ceremony inside the Geiger Center on Sept. 23 during Hall of Fame Weekend.

With these additions, OBU's Hall of Fame Class expanded to 141 members.

Parra is one of the all-time great pitchers in Bison history and a first-ballot Hall of Famer who became eligible this year. He appeared in the second-most games (66), has the most wins (38), most innings pitched (348.1) and second-most strikeouts (317) in program history.

During the 2016 season, he was named the Great American Conference's Pitcher of the Year and All-GAC First Team selection. A season later, he earned another All-GAC First Team nod while also garnering D2CCA All-Region accolades. Additionally, he was a two-time NCCAA All-America selection.

On the volleyball court, Pressley was sensational. She owns the top-three, single-season kill records with 600 in 2011, 590 in 2012 and 567 during the 2013 campaign. Pressley also has the most aces (137) and total attempts (5952) in program history. Among other accolades include the most kills (29) in a single match and most digs (50).

Pressley's postseason honors include being a three-time NAIA All-America honoree and two-time Sooner Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2011 and 2013, along with Hitter of the Year in 2012.

Rounding out OBU's class is Wilson. During his career, he played in the seventh-most games (131) in program history, also competed in the fourth-most national tourney games (13) and finished 11th with 1,415 career points. During the 2011-12 season, Wilson helped the Bison program to an impressive 26-3 record including a perfect mark (18-0) at home.

Among his postseason honors included being the NAIA's Player of the Year in 2012 along with a First Team All-America selection that season. Plus, he earned another All-America nod from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). Furthermore, the Sooner Athletic Conference honored Wilson as its Co-Player of the Year and All-Conference First Team selection in 2011-12.

The inductees will also be honored during halftime of the OBU versus Southwestern Oklahoma State football game the following evening. All previous OBU Hall of Fame inductees are invited back to attend. For more info, contact BAA@okbu.edu
