SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist football program announced its 2022 schedule on Monday afternoon, featuring six home games at Crain Family Stadium at the Hurt Complex.
OBU will take on an 11-game Great American Conference slate, including previous top-25 opponents in Harding, Henderson State, and Ouachita Baptist.
The Bison are coming off their most successful season in school history, finishing with eight wins and a FunTown RV Heritage Bowl victory on Dec. 8. Oklahoma Baptist eclipsed seven wins for the second consecutive year, previously earning a 7-4 record in 2019.
OBU will kick off its season under the lights on Thursday, Sept. 1, against Ouachita Baptist. This will be the first Thursday night game OBU has played since 2018.
In weeks two and three, the Bison will hit the road for matchups with Arkansas-Monticello on Sept.10 and Northwestern Oklahoma State on Sept. 17. OBU looks to extend its current streak of 16 wins over in-state opponents with its date in Alva.
On Sept. 24, Oklahoma Baptist returns home for its annual Hall of Fame Game, hosting Southwestern Oklahoma State before hitting the road to Harding on Oct. 1.
The Bison will host back-to-back home games on Oct. 8 and 15, as Arkansas Tech and East Central will make their way to Shawnee. The 15th will feature OBU's Homecoming game.
Then, Oklahoma Baptist will travel to Southeastern Oklahoma State on Oct. 22, return home on Oct. 29 against Southern Arkansas, and conclude their road schedule in Arkadelphia on Nov. 5 versus Henderson State.
Lastly, the Bison will host Southern Nazarene for Senior Night and the final regular-season home game on Nov. 12.
