Whitebear Invited to College Gridiron Showcase

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist cornerback Chase Whitebear received an invite to participate in the 2026 College Gridiron Showcase (CGS).

The event runs Jan. 9-11 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Whitebear, a 6-foot-3 corner who just finished his OBU career, played in 43 career games in Shawnee and tallied six interceptions, 28 pass break-ups and 230 tackles. His six interceptions are second-most in OBU history while his tackle total ranks fifth.

Plus, he had 9.0 tackles-for-loss, three forced fumbles and five fumble recoveries. During his senior campaign, he was named an All-GAC Third Team honoree.

The CGS is the first major all-star event of the college football post-season. Top college senior players are selected to participate by a panel of football experts. At the Showcase, scouts from the 32 NFL teams, CFL teams, and other professional leagues are on hand to evaluate and meet with players. Since CGS's inaugural event in 2015, more than 900 CGS participants have been offered pro opportunities.
