GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Oklahoma Baptist football program saw eight of its players named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
This year's award winners included
Jahden Brown,
Yonas Daniel,
Keith Ferguson,
Caleb Giles,
Nick Harris,
Edric Lambert,
Carter Lowry and
Andrew Sawyer.
For Sawyer, he's now a three-time honoree while Harris earned his second nod.
To qualify, a student-athlete had to have possessed at least a 3.50 grade point average, been of sophomore standing and have legitimate playing credentials which included playing in 90 percent of the team's contests.
Here are notes on the Bison's honorees.
Brown; Education major; All-GAC Third Team member. Finished eighth in the GAC with 10.0 tackles-for-loss.
Daniel; Exercise Science; Was also a GAC Academic Honor Roll selection and helped the OBU offense to the second-best passing offense in the league (249.1 ypg).
Ferguson; Exercise Science; Played in a career-high 10 games during his sophomore campaign.
Giles; Business Administration; Finished third on the team with 71 total tackles including 23 solo.
Harris; Business; GAC leader with 49 catches and ranked third with five touchdown grabs.
Lambert; Exercise Science; Also earned GAC Academic Honor Roll recognition and played in every contest (11) primarily as OBU's long snapper.
Lowry; Management; All-GAC Third Team selection. Set a school record with 12 made field goals which were the most in the conference during the 2025 season. Also kicked a school-record 53-yarder at East Central.
Sawyer; Pre-Allied Health; Currently the only Bison football player in the D2 era to possess three Academic All-District certificates. He played in all 11 games for the second consecutive year.
