RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – On Wednesday afternoon
, the Great American Conference announced its Women's Basketball Preseason Poll with Oklahoma Baptist checking in at No. 8.
That's a step up from last year when OBU was slotted ninth.
Harding was picked as the preseason favorite after garnering 116 votes and eight first-place nods. Southern Nazarene followed in second with 99 votes and a pair of first-place votes.
Last season, the Bison were very competitive, attaining 14 wins and just missing the GAC Tournament by one game. The team's 14-14 overall record was a 10-game improvement from the previous schedule during the spring as well.
OBU is just 10 days away from its first official practice. The new season is set to begin on Nov. 7 with an exhibition at the Noble Complex against Mid-America Christian University.
