Women's XC Secures Second Place at OBU Invitational

SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist women's cross country team fought hard against some quick competitors during Saturday's annual Oklahoma Baptist University Invitational at the Gordon Cooper Technology Center. 

Five Bison finished in the top 10 for the women's 5k run to earn second place overall.  

Sophomore Sophia Strange led OBU with a time of 18:28.89 at a 3:41.77 per kilometer pace for a second-place finish. 

Following Strange was senior Kayla McGruder (19:17.95, 6th) and senior Olivia Lynch (19:31.64, 8th). Then came sophomore Jadyn Pavlik (19:39.98, 9th) and sophomore Kaylen King (20:04.96, 10th). 

The five ran an average time of 19:24.68. 

Rounding off the team were Zoee Weaver (20:11.39, 12th), Emily Coffee (20:13.96, 13th), Jade Robinson (21:05.07, 15th), and Alexzandria Jaimz (21:18.24, 16th). 

Next on the agenda for Oklahoma Baptist is the Great American Conference championship on Nov. 5 in Shawnee, Okla.
