SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist University Athletics Department is going back to the future when it comes to supporting our student-athletes. To celebrate the 50
th anniversary of its founding, the Stampede, the annual fund supporting OBU Athletics, is returning to its roots as the Bison Athletic Association (BAA).

Originally founded in 1971, BAA members have been supporting OBU student-athletes through their generous financial support for decades. Coinciding with the re-introduction of the football program in 2013, the BAA was re-branded as The Stampede, though it's mission and purpose have remained the same. Despite the name change, many OBU supporters still referred to the annual fund as the BAA, which continued to be reflected in the Stampede logo.

As OBU Athletics continues to build a new legacy of success at the NCAA Division II level, the time was right to return to our roots in recognition of the decades-long tradition of Bison alumni, fans, and friends who have invested in the success of our student-athletes and athletics programs.
Along with the name change and updated branding, the BAA has also made a number of important enhancements to its structure and benefits. Most importantly, OBU will no longer require minimum per seat donations for priority season tickets at football and basketball. Moving forward, donations to the BAA will be 100 percent tax-deductible and will qualify members for certain benefits, including premium parking and access to VIP hospitality areas. Season tickets will be available for purchase without a donation.
Additional details regarding these changes will be sent to current BAA/Stampede members and season ticket holders along with renewal information in the coming weeks.
