OBU Announces State-Wide Radio Network for Basketball

SHAWNEE – Bison basketball will be available state-wide in 2021 as the OBU Athletics Department announced affiliates for the first Bison Basketball Network.

In partnership with Sportscast Productions, all 2021 OBU men's and women's basketball games, home and away, will be broadcast live in the greater Shawnee and Seminole area, as well as in the Oklahoma City, Norman, Tulsa, and Bartlesville markets. Live game audio will also be available across the country and around the world on OBUBison.com and on the iHeartRadio app.

"We're grateful for the hard work of John Brooks and SPI, as well as our network affiliates, to make the radio network a possibility this season," said Brian Dude, associate athletics director for external operations. "More Bison fans than ever before will be able to tune in and enjoy our outstanding broadcast crew for what promises to be an exciting season for our men's and women's basketball teams."

Veteran play-by-play man and "Voice of the Bison", Todd Miller, returns to the airwaves for his fifth season broadcasting OBU basketball games. Joining Miller to provide color commentary will be veteran journalist Scott Wanish. A 1991 OBU graduate, Wanish was an honorable mention All-American baseball player for the Bison. During his career he has worked as a sportswriter for the Shawnee News-Star, as sports editor of the Midwest City Sun, and editor of the Edmond Sun.

The Great American Conference recently announced that league games through Jan. 16 will be contested without fans in attendance. Further conference-wide discussions will take place prior to games on Jan. 21 to determine if member schools can operate at 25 percent capacity for the remainder of the regular season.

In addition to the radio network, OBU Athletics will also be providing enhanced live streams of all home games for the 2020 campaign. Fans can watch free, live, high-definition broadcasts of Bison home contests at OBUBison.com/Watch.

In the GAC's 20-game divisional format adopted for the 2021 season, the Bison will take on conference rivals in the state of Oklahoma four times each. The Bison are set to tip off on Thursday, Jan. 7, as Southeastern Oklahoma State visits the Noble Complex.
