Bison Tabbed to Win Third Straight GAC Title

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The 21st-ranked Oklahoma Baptist women's cross-country team was picked to finish first in the Great American Conference this season. The Bison are the two-time defending GAC Champions, having won the conference title in 2017 and 2018. 
 
The cross-country team will begin their season at the University of Central Oklahoma Land Run this Saturday.
 
The Bison will compete at home in Shawnee on October 12 with the Bison Invitational.
 
OBU leads the polls with 119 points overall, while also earning 10 of the 12 first place votes. East Central comes in second with 109 points overall, with a first-place vote. Harding rounds out the top three with 103 points overall, having received the final first place vote.
 
OBU enters the season ranked No. 21 nationally. it is their 16th consecutive time they have been ranked in the national polls. Since joining NCAA DIvision II as a full member in 2017, OBU has been ranked in the Top 25 in every poll except two, the preseason and week 1 poll of 2017.
