OKLAHOMA CITY - Junior
Dakota Clark had an incredible final round as he shot a 67 (-5) on Tuesday morning to finish with a three-round score of 206 (-10) and win the GAC Preview at Lake Hefner Golf Course. The Bison went on to shoot a 288 as a team in the final round for a three-round score of 868 and a sixth-place finish.
Clark finished with seven birdies and an eagle on the day as he was -4 on the front nine. Clark cooled off a bit towards the back half of the back nine, but finished things with a bang, eagling the 18th hole to earn the individual title.
Junior
Payton Posada placed sixth after shooting a 71 (-1), shooting a three-round score of 211 (-5). Freshmen
Payne Moses,
Brayden Ogle, and
Silvio Klein each shot a 75 (+3) in the final round with Moses earning a three-round score of 223 (+7) and Ogle carding a 228 (+12). Klein had to withdraw from round two yesterday and did not have an official three-round score.
"I am super proud of Dakota getting his first collegiate win today," said Head Coach
Luke Coppedge. "Payton had a great finish as well and I was glad to see improvement by all three freshmen in today's round."
Southern Arkansas won the event with a three-round score of 842 while Southern Nazarene followed in second place with a score of 852. Harding placed third at 854 while Oklahoma Christian was fourth with a score of 863. Southeastern Oklahoma State checked in just above the Bison at 868.
OBU will return to action next week beginning on Monday as they head to Muskogee for the NSU Men's Golf Classic.
