Helping Herd: Read Across America

SHAWNEE – A number of Oklahoma Baptist student-athletes were active participants in the Read Across America campaign on Monday, Feb. 25, at Jefferson Elementary School in Shawnee.

The Bison delighted a large group of students in a wide range of grade levels by reading popular books to the group.

Read Across America is an initiative on reading created by the National Education Association that began in 1997. Typically, the event it is observed in America on the school day closest to March 2, the birthday of Dr. Seuss.
