JOPLIN, Mo. – For the third-straight season, Oklahoma Baptist women's cross country finished in the top five at the Central Regional Championship. Three of OBU's top five runners, and five of the seven representatives, were underclassmen.
The Bison placed fifth at the regional meet, collecting 204 points and placing two runners inside the top 40 overall. Oklahoma Baptist averaged a time of 22:39 in their first six-kilometer race of the season with a spread of 48.5 seconds.
Jana Le Roux paced the contingent from OBU, placing 22nd overall with a time of 22:04.15.
Kayla McGruder was second across the line for the Bison, placing 39th in a time of 22:42.69. It was the first collegiate six-kilometer race for the pair of freshmen.
Right behind McGruder was
Berkley Price in 41st overall, clocking in with a time of 22:42.98, the exact same time she posted at last year's regional meet on the same course.
Allison Derry placed 49th after completing the course in 22:49.79, while
Tesa Potter was the final scorer for OBU in 53rd with a time of 22:52.59.
Displacers for the Bison were
Alexzandria Jaimz, finishing in 24:34.07 to place 138th overall, and
Shane Rinner, 181s in a time of 25:24.04.
