Lady Bison Slotted Fourth in Region

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist is slotted fourth in the US Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Women's Central Region poll released Tuesday.

OBU opens the season Saturday at the Central Oklahoma Land Run in Edmond.

The Lady Bison set a school record in 2017 by turning in a team average of 17:46 at the Chile Pepper Festival hosted by the University of Arkansas. Though Abby Hoover and Zoya Timoshenko have graduated, OBU returns NCAA All-American Sydney Lawrence, as well as Emily Sechrist and Tesa Potter who both contributed to OBU's 20th-place finish at the National Championship last year.

OBU is picked to win the Great American Conference title, based on a coach's poll released by the GAC last week.
