Coppedge Named Head Men's Golf Coach

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist has tabbed Luke Coppedge as the new head men's golf coach, Director of Athletics Robert Davenport announced Wednesday afternoon.

"We're excited to have Luke Coppedge lead our men's golf program," said Davenport. "As a former player in the Great American Conference, he knows what it takes to be successful in the league and will do an outstanding job relating with our student-athletes."

This will mark the first head coaching job for Coppedge, who began his collegiate golfing career at Murray State College in 2011 and was an NJCAA national qualifier in 2012 and 2013. He finished at Southern Nazarene, where he was an NCAA Division II regional qualifier in 2015.

Coppedge holds an Associate's Degree in Science from Murray State and a Bachelor's of Business Administration and Environmental Science from Southern Nazarene.

The past two years, Coppedge taught physical science and earth science at Dickson Public Schools and Norman Public Schools. He attends Calvary Baptist Church in Tishomingo.

Coppedge takes over for Drew Posada, who stepped down to pursue full-time ministry opportunities.
