FULLERTON, California – No. 19 Oklahoma Baptist won their third meet of the 2018 season, claiming the team title in a field of 14 teams at the California State-Fullerton Titan Invitational on Friday evening.

The Lady Bison scored 29 points in the victory, with all five scoring runners finishing inside the top 11. Oklahoma Baptist outscored second-place Biola by 45 points and had an average time of 18:10.48 on the 5,000-meter course. The team's average time represents an improvement of 47.11 seconds compared to their last race at the OBU Invitational, and was the third fastest team average in program history.
"I thought we did a good job managing the trip and maintaining our focus going into the race," said OBU head coach
Matt Kennedy.

"It was a really good performance by the girls, they raced smart and showed a lot of improvement from one race to the next. I think we're rounding into championship form, and today was evidence of that with the times we posted."
Sydney Lawrence finished second overall and first among scoring runners. The senior crossed the line in 17:27.96, her fastest time of the season by over 30 seconds.

Kaylee Large Crowson was the second Lady Bison to complete the course, clocking in at 18:00.76 to finish in fourth place.
Tesa Potter turned in a time of 18:17.41 to finish fifth, and
Allison Derry finished eighth after crossing in 18:28.46. Rounding out the scoring for OBU was
Emily Sechrist, who completed the course with a time of 18:37.81, good for 11th place among scoring runners.

Berkley Price and
Emma Downing served as displacers for OBU. Price turned in a time of 18:48.03 for 13th, while Downing finished 17th in a time of 18:57.11

The Lady Bison are off next week before returning to action on Saturday, Nov. 3 when they make the short trip to Edmond for the Great American Conference Championships. Oklahoma Baptist is the favorite to repeat as GAC champions.
