Men's Golf Picked Eighth in Preseason Poll

SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist men's golf ranks eighth in the Great American Conference preseason coaches' poll.
 
Entering the first season as a full member of NCAA Division II, the Bison received 33 points from other GAC coaches to insure the ranking. Arkansas Tech took first place with 77 points, including five first place votes. Henderson State received 72 points for second, and picked up four first place votes. Southwestern Oklahoma State brought home 64 points for third and the final first place vote.
 
Following third place are Harding (58 points), Southeastern Oklahoma State (42), Southern Arkansas (34) in sixth, Southern Nazarene (34), Oklahoma Baptist (33), Arkansas-Monticello (27), and Northwestern Oklahoma State (9) in 10th place.
 
OBU has seven returning players, three incoming freshman, and one junior college transfer all eager to make their first official Division II appearance. Their season is scheduled to begin September 11-12 at Lake Hefner for the Great American Conference Preview.
