SHAWNEE – The long wait is over and Oklahoma Baptist's first season as a full member of the NCAA is afoot with the opening slate of contests slated for this weekend. Here's what's coming up on Bison Hill.
Thursday: Women's Soccer welcomes Newman to the OBU Soccer Complex for a 5:30 p.m. tilt. The Lady Bison hold the only win in the series after dropping the Jets, 2-1, in 2015.
Friday: Volleyball opens up play at the Embry-Riddle Tournament with a pair of matches in Daytona Beach, Florida. In their first action of the season, OBU will take on Barton College at 11 a.m. ET before turning around and facing host Embry-Riddle at 6 p.m. ET.
Saturday: Men's and
Women's Cross Country will look for a solid performance in their first meet of the season in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the Central Oklahoma Land Run. The Lady Bison will be looking for their third-straight team title at the race after winning in 2015 and 2016, while the Bison will expect to improve on a fifth-place finish last year.
Volleyball wraps up the Embry-Riddle Tournament with a second pair of matches. Oklahoma Baptist will first take on Missouri S&T at 11 a.m. ET and then challenge Lynn at 3 p.m. ET.
Football provides a showpiece for Bison Hill as their 12 p.m. matchup with East Central is scheduled to be shown live on ESPN3. Last year, the Bison played spoiler when OBU claimed a 36-34 triple-overtime victory over the Tigers during ECU's homecoming.
