Coming Up on Bison Hill (March 6-12)

SHAWNEE – It's a busy week for Oklahoma Baptist Athletics as every spring team is in action heading into Spring Break next week. Here's what's coming up on Bison Hill.

Monday: Hot off claiming team honors at The Master's University Invitational, Men's Golf heads south of the Red River to compete at the Arbor Hotels Classic hosted by Lubbock Christian at The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas. A late addition to the field, OBU will play 36 holes in the first day of action. Women's Golf returns to the links after a couple weeks rest when they compete at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational, hosted by Southern Nazarene, at Kickingbird Golf Club in Edmond, Oklahoma. The Lady Bison placed 11th at the Diffee Ford Invitational last spring.

Tuesday: Men's Golf concludes the Arbor Hotels Classic with a final round of 18 holes. Women's Golf wraps up competition at the Diffee Ford Invitational. Men's and Women's Tennis continue their road trip when they head to Fort Smith, Arkansas, to take on Arkansas-Fort Smith at 1 p.m. This will be both teams' first meeting with UAFS since 2015 after last season's matches were cancelled. Baseball kicks off a nine-game homestand at 6 p.m. when they host Northeastern State at Bison Field at Ford Park. The Bison will be looking to avenge a 12-6 setback suffered last week in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Thursday: Men's and Women's Track and Field host the OBU Early Outdoor Invitational at the Hurt Memorial Track. Field events will begin at 12 p.m., while races will begin at 1 p.m.

Friday: Men's and Women's Swimming head north to Columbia, Missouri, to wrap up their season at the USA Swimming Central Zone Championships. The Bison claimed the men's title, while both the Lady Bison and Bison also combined for the team championship in 2016. Women's Tennis begins the defense of their Great American Conference title as they welcome Ouachita Baptist to the OBU Tennis Courts at 2 p.m. The Lady Bison swept the Tigers last season on the road, 9-0. Softball continues GAC action, making the trip to Monticello, Arkansas, to face Arkansas-Monticello in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. The Lady Bison split the 2016 series with the Blossoms, 2-2. Baseball welcomes UAM to Shawnee, playing the first of three games against the Weevils at 3 p.m. The Bison will be looking for revenge after dropping last season's series, 2-1, in Monticello.

Saturday: Men's and Women's Swimming continue to compete at the Central Zone Championships. Men's Tennis heads to Oklahoma City for a doubleheader against Bethel College (Kan.) and Kansas Wesleyan, with matches against Bethel starting at 10 a.m. and KWU at 1:3 p.m. The Bison have yet to face either team since making the jump to Division II. Conference play continues for Women's Tennis when they face Henderson State at 10 a.m. on the OBU Tennis Courts. Oklahoma Baptist claimed a 7-2 win on the road against the Reddies in 2016. After a week off, Women's Lacrosse makes its Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference debut against No. 17 Regis at the OBU Lacrosse Complex starting at 11 a.m. This is the first time OBU and Regis have met on the field, and is also the first time the Lady Bison have faced a ranked opponent in the Division II era. Softball wraps up their road series against UAM with a second doubleheader slated for 12 p.m. Baseball hosts a twin-bill against the Weevils to conclude the teams' three-game GAC series in Shawnee.

Sunday: Men's and Women's Swimming conclude the 2016-17 season with the final day of competition at the Central Zone Championships.
