Final Results) Oklahoma Baptist placed first at the TMU Spring Invitational, overcoming a one-shot deficit heading into the final round Tuesday at Robinson Ranch Golf Club.

The Bison shot 290 on the final day to finish at two-over 842 (281, 271, 290), defeating runner-up Victoria by three strokes to claim their first win of the season. It was the first tournament victory for OBU since claiming first place at the OBU Fall Invitational in September 2014.

"It was tougher today, but the guys stayed focused. I was very proud of the way they were willing to grind it out till the end," said Bison head coach
Drew Posada. "They showed the mental toughness of a winner and once again I could not be more proud of them and seeing their hard work pay off."

Sophomore
Hudson Hoover finished his third round in 72 strokes for a three-under par total at 207 (71, 64, 72). Hoover finished tied for fifth, his third consecutive tournament with a top-five start.

Kyle Perdew wrapped up with an even-par 70, finishing at one-under 209 (70, 69, 70) and a share of 11th place individually.
Mason Nutt carded a 76 for a final total of 213 (70, 67, 76).

Dalton Rhoden shot 73 for the second straight round to finish at 216 (70, 73, 73) in his first tournament as a Bison, and
Lucas Coapman shot 75 in the third round to total 218 (72, 71, 75).

"I'm very excited to build off this and to continue improving as the season progresses," said Posada.

OBU has an extended break before their next tournament, as the Bison will not play a competitive round in the month of March. Next up for Oklahoma Baptist is the DBU Patriot Classic on April 3-4 in Irving, Texas.
