SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist promoted
Brandon Morris to defensive coordinator, head coach
Chris Jensen announced Wednesday.
Â
Morris becomes the program's second defensive coordinator, succeeding Paul Smith.
Â
"I've known Brandon a long time," Jensen said. "He played for me in high school and I've tried to get him on my staff everywhere I've been a head coach because of his strong character. I've been very impressed with his knowledge of the game and his rapport with the players. I believe he is ready for this promotion to defensive coordinator."
Â
Morris was hired as OBU football's outside linebackers coach prior to the 2014 season after two years at middle linebackers coach at Southmoore High School and one year at Edmond North High School.
He was promoted to strength and conditioning coordinator prior to the 2015 season and also has coached safeties at OBU.
After playing nose guard at Westmoore High School, he played middle linebacker at the University of Oklahoma.
