SHAWNEE – Multiple teams are headed to postseason competition this week, including two teams that are headed to the Central Region Championships. Here's what's coming up on Bison Hill.
Monday: Men's Golf wraps up the fall portion of their season as they take part in the Southern Plains Intercollegiate hosted by Oklahoma City University at Gaillardia Country Club in Oklahoma City. The last time OBU played at Gaillardia was in 2015 when they shot 935 (299, 315, 321) through three rounds.
Tuesday: Men's Golf concludes play in Oklahoma City with a final round of 18 holes. The
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosts Trunk-or-Treat in the Noble Complex from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The event is open to the public.
Volleyball returns home after three matches on the road last week to face Southwestern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. in the Noble. Cadyn Laing had a team-high 16 kills and three aces when the Lady Bison fell to the Bulldogs in Weatherford earlier this season.
Wednesday: Women's Basketball heads north to Wichita, Kansas, for exhibition action against Wichita State at 7:05 p.m. The exhibition game will serve as OBU's final tune up prior to opening the 2017-18 season next week at the GAC/MIAA Crossover on Nov. 10 in Joplin, Missouri.
Thursday: Women's Soccer enters the Great American Conference postseason fray for the first time as the No. 1 seed when they face No. 4-seeded East Central at 5 p.m. at the OBU Soccer Complex. The Lady Bison are 1-0-1 against East Central this season, highlighted by a 2-0 win in Shawnee.
Volleyball plays its penultimate home match of the year when they take on Northwestern Oklahoma State inside the Noble Complex at 7 p.m. Laing had a season-high 21 kills against the Rangers in Alva earlier this year as the Lady Bison emerged 3-1 winners.
Friday: Men's Soccer begins its GAC Tournament journey when they face No. 2-seeded Ouachita Baptist at 4 p.m. at the Stevens Soccer Complex in Searcy, Arkansas. The teams split the regular season series 1-1, with the road team winning both meetings.
Men's and
Women's Swimming and Diving will compete against themselves at the Green/White Intrasquad. The meet is the second of just three events for the Bison and Lady Bison in the pool this year.
Men's Basketball makes the short drive to take on the school down the road, St. Gregory's, in the team's final preseason game of the year. The new-look Bison will be looking for payback after falling to the Cavaliers inside the Noble Complex last year.
Saturday: Men's and
Women's Cross Country are headed to the Central Regional Championships in Kearney, Nebraska. The Bison and Lady Bison are eligible for the regional for the first time ever since completing the transition to Division II earlier this year. Fresh off their first win of the season,
Football heads to Alva to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State at 2 p.m. Brynden Pitzer took an interception 26 yards to pay dirt to seal a 41-38 win over the Rangers the last time the Bison faced the Rangers in Alva. With a win on Thursday,
Women's Soccer will play for their first GAC Tournament crown at 1 p.m. at the OBU Soccer Complex against the winner of Thursday's match between No. 2 Southwestern Oklahoma State and No. 3 Harding.
Sunday: With a win on Friday,
Men's Soccer will earn the right to take on the winner of a match between No. 1 Harding and No. 4 Southern Nazarene at the Stevens Soccer Complex at 1 p.m.
