Coming Up on Bison Hill (Sept. 5-11)

SHAWNEE – The first week of the fall season is in the books and it's already time to start the next week of matches on Bison Hill. Here's what you can look forward to this week:

Monday: Women's Soccer takes the pitch for the first time in 2016 as they welcome Central Oklahoma to the OBU Soccer Complex at 6 p.m. Oklahoma Baptist last faced the Bronchos in 2009, falling 3-1, and will be looking for a better result this time.

Tuesday: Men's Golf plays in the first round of the 45th Annual U.C. Ferguson Invitational in Oklahoma City. The tournament will be held at the Lincoln Park Golf Course, and is hosted by Oklahoma City University.

Wednesday: Men's Golf wraps up play at the U.C. Ferguson Invitational. Volleyball travels to Edmond, Oklahoma, for a 7 p.m. tilt against Central Oklahoma. The Lady Bison will be looking to avenge a 3-1 setback suffered last season, the first meeting between the two teams since OBU revived the volleyball program prior to the 2008 season.

Thursday: Men's Soccer gets their first taste of road action when they travel to OCU for a 7 p.m. fixture. The Bison will be looking for their first win over the Stars in OBU head coach Anthony Yousey's tenure.

Friday: Volleyball heads to St. Joseph, Missouri, for the Green and Gold Challenge. The Lady Bison first take on the hosts from Missouri Western State at 10 a.m. before facing Missouri S&T at 2 p.m. Oklahoma Baptist, who fell to MWSU 3-1 last season, will be looking to return the favor; OBU and Missouri S&T will meet for the first time ever.

Saturday: Men's and Women's Cross Country travel to Durant, Oklahoma, for the Great American Conference Preview. It will be the first time either team has ran the event, which will give them a better picture of what the conference championship course will look like. Volleyball resumes play at the Green and Gold Challenge, this time playing in Marysville, Missouri, as they face Northwest Missouri State at 9 a.m. and Rockhurst at 1 p.m. The Lady Bison dropped NMSU 3-2 last season, while it will be the first time OBU and Rockhurst meet on the court in program history. Football kicks off their home opener against Arkansas Tech at 12 p.m. The Bison will be looking to avenge a 50-7 defeat to the Wonder Boys last season. Women's Soccer takes on the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma at 5 p.m. at the OBU Soccer Complex. Oklahoma Baptist won 3-1 in 2014, the last time the two sides met. Men's Soccer provides the nightcap for a busy day as they also take on USAO, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. Despite a hat trick by Vicente Castillo, the Bison fell 6-4 to the Drovers last season.
