FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- A first-half 23-3 Arkansas run was the undoing for Oklahoma Baptist in their 79-32 setback.
The Lady Bison had five-point leads of 6-1 and 8-3 in the first quarter, but trailed 17-11 at quarter's end. The run saw OBU down 26-11 before Autumn Avina ended the drought in the second quarter.
OBU trailed 29-17 at the half.
"I think in the first two quarters, we competed. In the second half their talent and intensity took over," said OBU Coach Casi Bays.
Tasha Edge led the Bison with nine points, followed by Autumn Avina with eight and Aliyah White with seven. Edge led the team with seven rebounds and Cameerah Graves led with three assists.
OBU opens the regular season in Emporia, Kansas, taking on Missouri Southern State, Saturday, Nov. 12, at 5 p.m.
