Oklahoma Baptist placed fourth in the women's race and 19th in the men's at the Southern Stampede Saturday in Joplin.

The Lady Bison were just off second place, finishing one point behind Dallas Baptist and two points back of 25th-ranked Southwest Baptist.

California-San Diego won the race with 56 points.

Great American Conference Schools in the race were East Central in 12th, Southern Arkansas in 15th and Southwestern Oklahoma State in 20th.

Abby Hoover finished fifth to lead the Lady Bison, coming in at 17:23.68 on the five kilometer course.

Miranda Dent was 113th at 17:53.20, Emily Sechrist was 31st at 18:32.98, Sydney Lawrence was 32nd at 18:34 and Kaylee Large rounded out the scoring in 35th at 18:37.68.

Madison Newton was 37th at 18:40.45, followed by Katelyn Fritz in 42nd at 18:48.20.
Also for the Lady Bison, Kelsey Doty was 71st at 19:15.65, Victoria Joslin was 127th at 20:06.72 and Zoya Timosenko was 172nd at 20:53.52.

The Bison finished 19th with 556 points in the men's race. East Central won the event with 121 points. Also from the GAC, harding was fourth and Southern Arkansas was 16th.

Jacob Janzen led the Bison in 74th place at 26:05.89 in the eight-kilometer race.

Ayoub Akil was 111th at 26:34, followed by Jordan Masterson in 148th at 27:10.27, Blaine Whitson in 158th at 27:20.74 and Nathan Crowson in 192nd in 27:55.48 to round out the scoring.

Tommy Uglean was 199th at 28:01.19. Zach Polley was 209th at 28:15.59 and Zach Widener was 233rd at 29:05.05.
