GOODWELL, Oklahoma – Oklahoma Baptist took its first loss of the 2014 season, falling to Oklahoma Panhandle State 49-21 Saturday.
  
The Aggies passed for 417 yards and ran for 316 for a 733 –yard game total. Chris McClendon led the Aggies running attack with 192 yards on 20 carries.
 
"We've got to learn from our mistakes. We're still a good football team," said Bison Coach Chris Jensen. "We couldn't dig ourselves out of a hole. We had our hands full trying to keep McClendon down. You have to give credit to their defense as well. They have a pretty good scheme and good athletes on defense. We'll find a way to get better. "
 
OBU scored first when Eugene Estes took a punt 70 yards 78 seconds into the contest.
 
Panhandle State scored the next 35 points on two rushing touchdowns by Rodrion Moore of 4 and 19 yards, a 68-yard run by McClendon, and passes from Caleb Holbrook of 51 and 60 yards.
 
OBU scored on a 15-yard run by Dawson Myers with 3:31 left in the third quarter.
 
OPSU answered with a 29-yard TD pass from Holbrook, who added another in the fourth quarter from 30 yards.
 
OBU had a score in the fourth quarter on a 10-yard run by Blake Woodard.
 
Holbrook had 392 yards passing on 42 attempts, completing 29.
 
Jordan Barnes spearheaded the rushing attack with 50 yards, while Dawson Myers added 49.
 
Woodard was 13 of 29 passing for 131 yards, finding Turner Coon five times for 23 yards.
 
Tyler Day led the OBU defense with 11 tackles with D'Ante Meeking adding 10. Dominic Rosetti had a sack and Nic Shegog and Meeking had an interception each. Shegog also blocked a field goal.
 
OBU returns to action Saturday at home, taking on Southwestern University from Texas at 2 p.m.
