SHAWNEE, OK – Oklahoma Baptist football has announced the addition of Kenyon Tomlinson to its coaching staff.
Tomlinson arrives on Bison Hill following a collegiate playing career that included stops at College of the Desert, Grambling State, and Lake Erie College, where he competed as a defensive back and earned his bachelor's degree in 2025.
Prior to joining the Bison staff, Tomlinson served in the United States Army from 2016-20 as a 15P Aviation Operations Specialist. His responsibilities included flight operations management, flight tracking, equipment accountability and unit armorer duties.
Tomlinson also gained coaching experience during his military service, serving as the junior varsity defensive coordinator at Lathrop High School during the 2017 season. In that role, he assisted with film study, player development and defensive preparation.
Beyond athletics, Tomlinson served as president of the Black Student Union at Lake Erie College after previously serving as vice president of the organization at College of the Desert. In those roles, he helped create student programming, foster campus engagement, and advocate for fellow students.
A native of Cleveland, OH, Tomlinson earned an associate degree from College of the Desert in 2021 before completing his bachelor's degree at Lake Erie College in 2025.
