SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist's men's track and field squad competed in a handful of events during the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and Pitt State's David Suenram Gorilla Classic this weekend.
Most noteworthy, in Austin,
Kobe Brown,
Dwayne Fleming,
Korban Murphy and
Ayo Toritsju broke OBU's previous school record in the sprint medley relay. That group of Bison finished the race in 3:19.46 (3rd place) which broke a 2007 record of 3:21.69.
Later, Brown, Fleming, Toritsju and
Caden Peevey clocked an NCAA provisional mark of 3:12.08 in the 4x400.
Over in Pittsburg, Kansas, there were a few good marks for OBU. In the 5,000,
Jacob Kerbo PR'd with a time of 16:27.17 while
Maddox Motley earned a personal-best heave in the shot put event (11.74m; 38-6.25). Lastly,
Wyatt Willoughby posted a PR in the discus throw (48.00m).
Three other Bison competed at Pitt State.
Noah Zachary took eighth in the 800-meter run (1:59.42) while
Matthew Werschem placed ninth in the hammer (52.99m). Lastly,
Kasen Taylor registered an 11th-place finish in the 1,500 (4:15.93).
