EMPORIA, Kan. – There were a couple of solid marks for the Oklahoma Baptist men's track and field team during its Thursday at the Emporia State Collegiate Relays.
OBU wound up in sixth place by the end of the competition.
Dwayne Fleming continued his outstanding outdoor season with a runner-up showing in the 100-meter dash. He clocked a personal-best 10.11 time which is the No. 2 mark in the country. It was also four-hundredths of a second away from the OBU outdoor record.
Another top NCAA mark was delivered by the 4x400 team. Fleming,
Caden Peevey,
Kobe Brown and
Ayo Toritsju claimed second place with a time of 3:08.73. That mark is slotted fourth in the country.
Toritsju added an NCAA-qualifying time of 47.01 in the 400. That was good for third place too.
There were also several personal-best marks for the green and gold.
Gage Spencer earned sixth place in the 200 with a PR of 21.55. Teammate
Wyatt Willoughby reached a PR of 48.03 meters in the discus throw and
Ethan Vandevier earned his best time in the 400-meter dash (50.27).
Plus,
Maddox Motley PR'd in the shot put, heaving 11.75 meters.
Furthermore,
Boone Bennett took fourth in the 110 hurdles (14.60) while
Austen McQueen took fifth in the 400 hurdles (55.82). Lastly,
Auston Bundy earned sixth place in the triple jump (13.01m).
