FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Dwayne Fleming won the 100-meter dash during the Arkansas Springtime Invitational on April 11 at John McDonnell Field.
In a field of 32 runners, Fleming clocked a 10.15 effort which slotted him at the top. That time met NCAA qualifying standards and was a personal-best for the junior. It's also the third-best time in D2.
He later followed that up with a sixth-place showing in the 200 (20.53). Only a few D1 participants defeated OBU's athlete who earned another provisional- and personal-best mark in that event. To date, his time in the 200 is second-best in the nation.
There were a few other top-ten finishes for the green and gold.
During the 1,500-meter run,
Cameron Langdon took seventh with a time of 3:58.27. Teammate
Ira Gikas followed one spot later (3:58.71) while
Josh Kearse took 10th place (3:59.62).
Boone Bennett added a seventh-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (14.34) and
Korban Murphy finished in eighth in the 800 (1:52.40).
Furthermore, Gikas PR'd in the 800, crossing the finish line in 1:55.74.
