LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association named
Greenlee Wells to its 2026 NFCA Division II Player of the Year Watchlist on Wednesday. It's the fourth straight year OBU has had a player named to this watchlist.
Wells' senior season has been outstanding to this point. She leads the country with 18 homers, ranks third with 55 RBI and fourth with 111 total bases. The Vian, Okla., native also is tops in America in slugging percentage at 1.133 and tied for third in on-base percentage (.613).
A patient batter, Wells' 1.02 walks per game is another top-four national mark.
The shortstop joins
Sammie Greene (2025), Kayleigh Jones (2023, 2024) and Emily Adler (2023) as the only Bison players to be honored on this list.
The watchlist is broken down into the eight NCAA regions (Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West) with up to 15 student-athletes represented in each region. The list is compiled and the award is voted on by the elected members of the NFCA Division II All-American Committee with one head coach representing each of the eight NCAA regions.
