Wells Earns All-American Status

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Oklahoma Baptist's Greenlee Wells became just the second player in the school's Division II era to earn First Team All-American honors on Wednesday.

The senior shortstop garnered top national billing from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

OBU's only other first-team honoree was pitcher Kayleigh Jones, who earned recognition from the NFCA and Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) in 2023.

Well's senior campaign was outstanding. She was the GAC Player of the Year and received multiple all-region nods. On the field, the Vian, Okla., native broke a remarkable four school records during the 55-game season.

Those included 19 homers, 68 walks, 62 RBI and 56 runs scored. Wells also hit .412 and posted a .954 slugging percentage. Those were top-two single-season marks in OBU history. All these stats were at around the top of the Great American Conference and inside the top-20 of the NCAA.
