GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Oklahoma Baptist softball program's academic prominence was recognized again on Tuesday with the release of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Among those honored:
Kaley Cook,
Haley Hacker,
Katelyn Kilgore,
Ally Ryan and
Jaycee Shaffer. That marks the fourth straight season that multiple Bison were recognized for their efforts in the classroom and on the field.
To qualify, a student-athlete had to have a 3.50 grade point average or higher, been of sophomore standing and have legitimate playing credentials. Here's a quick look at OBU's honorees.
Cook (1): Early Childhood Education; First career honor; All-GAC Second Team; Set a school record with 49 stolen bases in 2026.
Hacker (1): Middle School Education; All-GAC Honorable Mention and NFCA Central Region First Team; Ranked top-10 in the GAC in batting (.265), slugging (.615) and OPS (1.059).
Kilgore (1): Nursing; All-GAC First Team; Finished the year with a .303 batting average, 40 hits, 98 putouts and seven assists.
Ryan (3): Computer Information Systems; All-GAC First Team and D2CCA All Central Region Second Team; Posted 14 homers and 44 RBI which were top-eight GAC marks.
Shaffer (2): Exercise Science; All-GAC Second Team; Posted the second-most wins (21) and strikeouts (176) in the GAC in 2026.
