SHAWNEE – OBU Men's Track and Field close out the second day of the conference championship meet with a successful finish.
In the second day of the GAC Track and Field Championship, the Bison remained a high-level competitor, closing out the day with several achievements.
Carson Kardokus won the 800m with a 1:52.91 finish, becoming the fourth fastest GAC Championship time and also meeting NCAA Provisional standards.
Jentezen Smith took first place in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14:60 (NCAA Provisional) and the 400m hurdles logging a 53.57 final.
Sean Dixon snagged the first place slot in the 400m race with a time of 47.84.
Maddox Motley placed second in the decathlon with a total of 6,045 points.
Both
Zavier Freeman and
Karson Holsapple earned new personal bests in the shot put, finished in second and third place, respectively. Freeman landed a 16.35m throw while Holsapple slotted a 16.07m mark.
Isiah Willis finished in third place in the long jump (7.31m).
Matthew Werschem also earned third place, with a 52.05m finish in the hammer throw.
The green and gold will be back to work Friday for the conclusion of the GAC Championship meet with the first event scheduled for 8 a.m. sharp.
