Bison Men Compete at Crimson & Gold Invitational

PITTSBURG, Kan. – Boone Bennett and Ayo Adelo of the Oklahoma Baptist men's track and field team each earned NCAA provisional marks in a couple of events during Pitt State's Crimson and Gold Invitational on December 6.

In the 400-meter dash, Adelo took runner-up honors with a personal-best time and provisional mark of 47.87. As for Bennett, during the 60-meter hurdles, he placed fifth, crossing the finish line in 8.14. That, too, was also a personal-best for the junior from Owasso.

OBU's Emery Crayton add the Bison's other top-five finish when he placed fourth in the 5,000 (14:59.42).

Rounding out the team's top-ten marks, Gage Spencer earned seventh in the 200 meters (22.02); Zachary Williams finished in eighth in the 5,000 (15:03.19); and the 4x400 relay team of Adelo, Kobe Brown, Dwayne Fleming and Jonathan Brite placed eighth with a time of 3:15.53.

The team will break for Christmas and return to competition on Jan. 16 at OU's Owen Hewett Invitational in Norman.
