SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Morgan Becker paced the Oklahoma Baptist women's golf team to a 10th-place finish at Arkansas Tech's Spring Preview in Missouri.
OBU shot 76-over-par after firing rounds of 314-310-316, their lowest card in a three-round tournament and seventh top-10 finish this season.
Becker was fantastic over the last two days, as she concluded the tourney in a tie for fourth after shooting 6-over-par for the tournament. It is Becker's fourth top-five finish this season and second-best card across three rounds in her career.
The sophomore opened the event with back-to-back 73's, which included six birdies. In her first go around, Becker shot a team-best 3-under-par on the front nine. Additionally, she sunk the most birdies (8) for OBU.
Josefina Serres Scheffer claimed a tie of 29th out of the 95 participants, her second-best finish this season. She fired 17-over-par for the event after shooting a 9-over 81 today. Furthermore, she cut her career-best three-round total by 17 strokes and secured the first eagle of her career.
Morgan Simmons trailed in a tie for 51st following an 8-over 80 on her final trip. Simmons sunk the second-most birdies (6) on the team.
Rylie Spaulding, competing as an individual, turned in a tie of her best score across three rounds in her career. Spaulding finished 25-over-par, posted a tourney-low trip of 78 (+6), and claimed a tie of 60th.
Sam Lehr and Gimena Errecart rounded out OBU's lineup in ties for 72nd and 74th. Lehr was 33-over-par and cut her strokes in each round, opening with an 88 (+16) before closing at 7-over 79. Errecart also progressed as the tournament went on, slicing her strokes by three to finish at 10-over-par.
