Simmons Selected to Compete at Central Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – Oklahoma Baptist golfer Morgan Simmons was selected to compete at next week's NCAA Central Regional in St. Joseph, Missouri.

A junior from Memphis, Simmons was one of six individuals chosen to participate in the three-day, 54-hole tournament from the St. Joseph Country Club.

The NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship consists of 18 teams and six individuals from each of the four regions. The top five (Central), four (South), four (East) and five (West) teams along with the top two individuals not on an advancing team will advance to the championships which will be held May 12-16 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The number of participants that qualify for the finals is 98.

Simmons is ranked No. 19 in the Central Region with a 76.3 scoring average this year. In 27 total rounds, she has seven top-15 finishes and earned All-GAC Second Team honors a couple weeks ago.
