GREENWOOD, Ind. – Oklahoma Baptist's
Ines Diaz,
Emilee Pierce and
Sam Lehr were recognized on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team released on Tuesday.
To qualify, a student-athlete had to have a 3.50 grade point average or higher, been of sophomore standing and have legitimate playing credentials which included being in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's team scoring events or in the lineup at the conference championship tournament.
Here's a look at OBU's award-winners:
Diaz (1): Exercise Science; Earned a season-best, sixth-place spot during the March 30 ABC Supply Invitational.
Pierce (1); Nursing; Burst on to the scene in the spring and posted a 14th-place finish at the GAC Championship which included a career-low 76 during the third and final round.
Lehr (2); Nursing; Missed the fall season but returned in the spring to play in five tournaments. Finished in 20th at the GAC Championships, a season-best.
